BayStars climb back to .500

DeNA BayStars defeat the Hanshin Tigers, 6-3. Kentarō Tairagot his second career NPB win and his first of the season. He went 5.1 innings with his only run being a Kosuke Fukudome home run in the 4th inning and striking out 6.

In the 4th inning, Toshiro Miyazaki got the scoring started when he hit his 6th home run of the season into left field to make it a 1-9 game. In the bottom of the 4th, Fukudome hit a homerun to centerfield to tie the game 1-1.

In the fifth inning a double by Neftali Soto knock Yamato in to give the Baystars the lead. Jose Lopez followed up with a home run of his own to make it 4-1. In the 7th inning Miyazaki hits a RBI driving Soto in to make it 5-1.

In the bottom of the 7th, Shoichi Inoh has 2 bases loaded walks that made the game 5-3. But in the 9th, Lopez hit his 2nd home run of the game as insurance to make it 6-3. The BayStars would go on to shut the Tiger down in the 9th to win it. The BayStars are back to .500 and in third place in the Central.

    Actually only one of Inoh’s was a bases loaded walk. Haraguchi hit an RBI single prior to Shunsuke’s walk. But he did walk the bases loaded after a Yamato error.
